One way to build a comprehensive, inclusive, and equitable music education is through the inclusion of popular music in curricula. In this session, we will explore Orff Schulwerk and Popular Music Pedagogies as a way to incorporate music and media that are relevant to your students in your classroom. We will also introduce modern band instrumentation (i.e., Ukuleles, Bass Guitar), and songwriting into the elementary music classroom.
